Chocolate Gravy





3/4 cup granulated sugar or Splenda sugar substitute

1 tablespoon butter

1/2 cups milk

1 cup water

2 tablespoons flour

3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (we prefer Hershey's)



1.Mix all the dry ingredients in a heavy saucepan with a whisk. Using a whisk blends everything better than a spoon. Stir in the milk and water.

2.Cook over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove the pot when the mixture is thick like gravy.

3.Add the butter. Stir in until completely melted. Serve over biscuits or with toast.

Rachel's Notes:

This is such a treat for breakfast! My DH doesn't like it to be very sweet or rich so is you'd like something a little sweeter increase sugar to 1 cup and use all milk instead of water.

This was something I never had as a kid but I'm sure I'll make up for it! Try it over pancakes!
